‘Most Canadians plan to do holiday shopping in Canada’: Survey says

The survey also shows more Canadians are looking to Black Friday to find deals rather than Boxing Day

A new survey shows most Canadians plan on doing their holiday shopping in Canada.

The Retail Council of Canada enlisted the help of Leger Research to conduct a survey on Canadian’s 2018 holiday shopping plans.

Over 2,500 people were surveyed with 87 percent saying it’s important to buy from retailers within Canada during the holidays

Michael LeBlanc, Senior retail advisor for the Retail Council of Canada, told NEWS 95.7 the numbers are highest in Atlantic Canada.

“What jumped out at us was the number of Atlantic Canadians that said they want to shop in Canada, 95 percent,” said LeBlanc.

The survey also showed 74 percent intend to do their shopping at a brick and mortar retailers while 26 percent will shop online.
