One of the key functions of new smartphones from Apple has become satellite communication in case you need to call for help, and there is no connection to the cellular network. Initially, it was launched only in North America, but quite quickly such an opportunity appeared for the iPhone in Europe as well.

The first countries where you can now use Emergency SOS on this side of the ocean are Great Britain, Ireland, France and Germany. The function is already available to users of the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro smartphones.

We remind you that with its help, in the absence of a cellular network, you can send a request for help to emergency rescue services, as well as notify the given contact that an emergency situation has occurred. At the same time, there may be no feedback. And, of course, Emergency SOS only works outdoors.

Satellite communication can also be used for the Find My application, which will be able to update the user’s location, which in turn will be seen by loved ones with whom they have shared access to their location.

Emergency SOS is currently free for two years. The company has not yet announced how much it will cost in the future or whether it will be the same with subsequent models.
