We welcome your visit to Tajikistan, dear Mikhail Vladimirovich.
Russia is our important strategic partner and ally. Tajik-Russian relations have a high development dynamics in all areas. Russia remains Tajikistan’s main trading partner. Cultural and humanitarian ties have a trend of steady expansion. We work closely together in the field of security.
The development of Tajik-Russian relations occupies a priority place in the current policy of Tajikistan. We will continue to make the necessary efforts to build up multifaceted cooperation with the Russian Federation. I am convinced that the results of your visit will give a new impetus to our bilateral relations.
Welcome again. Please, dear Mikhail Vladimirovich, you have the floor.
Mikhail Mishustin: Dear Emomali Sharipovich!
I would like to once again cordially greet you, thank you for the warm welcome extended to the Russian delegation, and, of course, convey the warmest words from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
We sincerely value partner, allied relations with Tajikistan. They are based on the traditions of historical friendship and mutual respect for our fraternal peoples.
As a result of the visit of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to Tajikistan in June last year, agreements were reached with you on strengthening cooperation in all areas. And of course, it is up to governments to do what our presidents have decided.
Our trade and economic cooperation is developing steadily. In 2022, compared to 2021, mutual trade increased by 18% and amounted to about $1.5 billion. Is it a lot or a little? Of course not. I am absolutely sure that there are opportunities to increase cooperation in completely different industries and areas: energy, transport, agriculture, industrial production, construction, digital technologies.
Dear Emomali Sharipovich, we brought a very impressive delegation from Russia: seven ministers, two vice-premiers, representatives of business circles, heads of 260 companies are with us. The forum you have today has about 600 people. And my colleague Kokhir Rasulzoda and I just visited it, where we spoke and called on our businessmen, our partners to create joint production, increase mutual trade turnover, think about strengthening cultural ties, and engage in development in all areas of the mutual agenda.
We also attach great importance to interaction between our regions. 70 regions of Russia have direct agreements with regional centers and cities and interact very actively with Tajikistan. Five heads of our regions have arrived here today.
Once again, I would like to thank you for the warm welcome and propose to discuss a joint agenda.
