Tajik football player moved to Shakhtar Donetsk

Midfielder of the national team of Tajikistan, 18-year-old Khusrav Toirov moved to Shakhtar Donetsk from Atyrau Kazakhstan. The agreement between the club and the player runs until 2028. This is reported by the official website of FC Shakhtar.

Khusrav Toirov is a graduate of the Dushanbe club Lokomotiv-Pamir, for the main team of which he made his debut in April 2020 at the age of 15. In August 2022, he signed an agreement with the Kazakhstan Premier League team Atyrau. In the 2022/23 season, he took part in 11 matches, made 2 assists.

Toirov is a player in the youth team of Tajikistan (U20), in which he made his debut in September 2022 and has played 5 matches to date.

Khusrav was born on August 1, 2004 in Dangara.

The new club of Khusrav Toirov – Shakhtar – is a multiple champion of Ukraine, the winner of the Europa League. This year, Shakhtar continues to play in the Europa League and in the 1/8 finals and on March 9 will play with the Dutch Feyenoord. The team in the championship of Ukraine after 14 rounds scored 33 points and takes 2nd place. Due to the armed conflict, Shakhtar moved to Kyiv.

In an interview with the Ukrainian portal Ua-football.com, the Tajik football player said that the war in Ukraine does not frighten him.

“No, I simply could not refuse such an option. If this is fate, then so be it. I am not afraid of anything. God forbid, everything will get better soon,” Khusrav said.

He thanked the team for the warm welcome and told how he ended up in the Ukrainian club.

“It was unexpected, but very nice when they said that such a big club was interested in me. I shared this joy with my parents: I immediately called by phone, and everyone was very happy – family, brothers, sisters. It’s an amazing feeling. I still can’t believe it!” Khusrav said.

The German portal Transfermarkt  so far estimates the player’s value at only 150 thousand euros, but with the transition to a more qualified club, he has the opportunity to increase his transfer price on the European football arena.
